As we have seen in class, it is very important to know how to write a good opinion essay. Here you have some TIPS (consejos):
1. Write 3 paragraphs: introduction, body and conclusion.
2. INTRODUCTION: It is a good idea to start with a question. For example, if you the topic of your composition is: "Private schools shouldn't exist. Discuss.", you may want to start your composition with: " Should private schools exist?".
Then, you can write a sentences such as: "Nowadays, this is a very controversial issue" or "That is a really interesting question".
After that, remember to state your opinion. Use connectors such as "In my opinion, / As far as I am concerned, / As I see it...".
3. BODY: Plan 3 or 4 ideas and write simple sentences. Then, join them using connectors.

4. CONCLUSION: Start with a connector and then rephrase the topic of your composition again stating your opinion one more time. You can use this sentence:
All in all/In conclusion/ To sum up, as we have seen above, there are many reasons why (topic of your composition).
Then write a final sentence to impress your audience/the examiner.
5. Finally, check your grammar and spelling. KEEP IT SIMPLE. The shorter your sentences are, the less mistakes you'll make.

Should smoking be prohibited? Nowadays, it is a controversial issue. In
my opinion, smoking is a really big problem for the world.
In the first place, smoking should be prohibited because it is unhealthy
for people who smoke and for people around them. Smoking harms their lungs.
Secondly, it creates a lot of pollution. Moreover, smokers do not know it, but
they are destroying the world slowly. Finally, people who smoke get addicted to
it. Sometimes, people smoke because they have problems, but from my point of
view, smoking won’t change anything. It will just destroy them and kill them.
In conclusion, as we have seen above, there are many reasons why smoking should be prohibited. If people continue smoking, nothing in this world will
remain for a long time. We should avoid it now before it is too late.
