A NARRATIVE: A PARTY WHERE I WORE A DISGUISE

Dear students,

You are used to writing stories, as we have been asking you to write different types of narratives since you started studying English. However, I always feel you can do better. Here you have a previous post related to NARRATIVES if you want to have a look at some tips and an example:

In one of the options of the former PAU 2009/2010, this was the topic of the composition:

"Write about a Halloween party or any other party where you went wearing a disguise".

And this is the collaborative writing we've done in 2º Bachillerato B (200 words aprox):

I remember the day of my first Halloween party, when I wore a vampire costume. I had always dreamt/dreamed about becoming a vampire for a day since I saw/watched Twilight/Teen Wolf. Peter, a friend of mine, invited me to this huge party at his house. I was so/really excited about it because it was going to be my first Halloween party ever.

When the day arrived, I met some other friends to walk to Peter’s house since/as/for/because my parents hadn’t allowed me to go all alone. We met at seven o’clock in my house to/in order to get ready. As soon as everything was set up, we made our way to Peter’s. While we were walking down the street, we saw what we thought it was a ghost. We were/felt so/really/quite/extremely/truly frightened/terrified /scared! However/Nevertheless, it was just a person wearing a stunning/incredible/amazing/awesome/astonishing costume.

Eventually, we arrived at the party where all our friends were waiting for us. We had a really good time, dancing and drinking but just water or juice (although if we had drunk something else, the party would have been even more successful 😉). I will always remember this party since/as/for/because it was the best Halloween party I have ever been to!
