Dear students,
You already know that in EvAU (previously known as PAU) you may have to write a narrative, a description or an argumentative essay (opinion or for and against essay). In this post we are going to examine several aspects to write a good narrative.
1. Use a timeline to sequence the events in chronological order. Use a wide range of tenses, specially past tenses (past perfect, past simple, past continuous).
2. Write your ideas in SHORT SENTENCES and join them using CONNECTORS.
WHILE: mientras
WHEN: cuando
SUDDENLY=ALL OF A SUDDEN: de repente
AFTER THAT=LATER=THEN: luego, después
FINALLY=IN THE END= EVENTUALLY: finalmente, al final.
BY THE TIME...: para cuando...
3. Use "colorful" adjectives. Forget about "good" and "bad".

4. Be creative. Everybody loves a good story.
Here you have an example of a narrative story. Thank you Miriam for your contribution.😘
YOUR FIRST DAY AT THIS HIGH SCHOOL
I remember clearly my
first day at this high school. It was really exciting. At first, I woke up
pretty sad, I thought that my mum was not coming with me. I was talking with my
sister in the kitchen, when we heard a noise. We felt scared but it was my mum.
She had returned from a business travel, I have never felt happier than in this
moment. When the high school finished my mother was waiting for me. We were
going to MacDonald's but suddenly, my dad phoned me. He was in La Vaguada, a
shopping centre, so my mum and I went there too. By the time the day finished,
I had a lot of new clothes. They bought three trousers, two skirts, two
trainers and an amazing watch. Eventually, we arrived quite exhausted at home.
Every year the 20th of September we go to eat, except next year because we are
going to New York. I promise I will go to eat with my family every year. I
still remember this day. I have always said that my first day at this high
school was better than my first day at primary school.
